This trending shape, which last had its heyday during the Y2K era, goes by many names. Bell-bottom, or flared nails, are inspired by the iconic flared silhouette of the ’70s. This style also goes by duck nails, named for the animal’s flared feet. According to Fresha, Google searches for “flared nails” have increased by 706 percent in the last year, suggesting that this nostalgic nail shape is on the cusp of having a comeback. Annabelle Taurua, beauty expert at Fresha, says the trend is so popular because it taps into the desire to bring back nostalgic beauty trends.
