Most eczema treatments are built to fight one thing at a time, either the visible flare-ups or the itch that comes with them. A new injectable antibody is designed to go after both simultaneously, and early trial data suggest that the dual approach might pay off. As reported by Dermatology Times, researchers shared preliminary phase 1 trial results for BBT001, an antibody designed to block two inflammatory pathways involved in eczema at once. Patients treated with the drug saw significant skin clearing within just one week, and itch relief starting as early as the day after their first dose.
