But for many patients using GLP-1 medications, that early confidence can shift as the scale keeps moving and facial changes start showing up in ways no one warned them about. “GLP-1s have completely changed the way we treat patients medically,” says Pasadena, CA facial plastic surgeon Kay Durairaj, MD. “People are becoming metabolically healthier when they lose this weight, and we want to encourage that. The challenge is the speed.
